Consortium Partner Reefgen completes Trial in Pudget sound

The Grasshopper is undergoing testing in Washington State’s Puget Sound, where environmental conditions proved challenging and significant ecological damage was observed in the region. This marks the first trial of a novel system that feeds shoots directly from the support vessel, eliminating the need to reload trays. The system is expected to drastically increase the speed of shoot deployment. Under optimal conditions, this setup enables plantation at a rate of one hectare (20,000 shoots) within 5 to 8 workdays.
